TRANSFORMERS |
Date: 20th August, 2011 Stern Pinball have officially confirmed that their next game will be based on the Transformers series of movies. While it was known that Stern's new VP of Game Design, George Gomez had been working on a Transformers pinball for some time and it would be their next game after Tron, this is the first time Stern have confirmed the game's existence.
The made the announcement through a teaser video released on YouTube. In the video, George is seen working on the game, looking at the design on his CAD program and trying a Transformer toy, when there are noises in another part of the factory.
The video doesn't reveal anything much about the game but there are a few clues we might look at a little more closely.
Does the playfield drawing on the wall behind George show the upper part of the playfield?
The triangular arrangement of inserts at the bottom of the drawing - while looking a little Johnny Mnemonic-like - and the triangular bumper next to them match those seen on the screen of his laptop.
While we're examining the video more closely, most of the shots are intentionally dark, so let's brighten things up a little and have a clearer look at that transforming pinball on the production line.
The cabinet dimensions are a little off, and the backglass looks even worse than Dale Jr., but wait...
Transformers should be out in a couple of months and in the distributors and Best Buy in time for the holiday season.
