LICENCE RATES SEE NO CHANGE

Story dated 19th April 2000

In his annual budget statement, the Chancellor Gordon Brown made several changes to the rates of duty on different bands of fruit machines (AWPs), but left the rates for video games, quiz games and pinball unchanged.

In a strange swap around, the duty exemption moved from 5p all-cash fruits to the 10p variety, both with £8 maximum wins.

The duty rates for pinball remain as:

Stake
Duty
35p or less
Exempt
over 35p
£250
