SHARPE MOVE

Story dated 11th September 2000

Former Licensing and Marketing Director at Williams, Roger Sharpe is on the move again.

After the closure of the Pinball Division in November 1999, Sharpe moved to the company's Midway division but he has now parted company with Williams to set up his own company aimed at the coin-op business.

In a move echoing that of former Williams colleague Pat Lawlor, Sharpe has formed Sharpe Communications. Based in Arlington Heights, Illinois, the company is described as a marketing, advertising, licensing, public relations and promotional agency. They also offer assistance in game design. Basically everything apart from manufacturing the game.

The company has been quick off the marks, and signed an alliance with the London-based firm GSN Communications to provide their services worldwide.

Roger Sharpe has a long association with pinball. From a game designer with Game Plan and Williams from 1979, through game reviewer and book author, he's been associated with the industry for 25 years.

Plus he's no mean pinball player.
