N-GAGE-ING NEW SHOW

Story dated July 12, 2005

A new pinball show has been announced for the UK in November and it's promising to be the biggest and best for many years.

The UK Pinball Show is sponsored by phone manufacturer Nokia to tie in with the release of their Mile High Pinball game for the N-Gage in November and is organised by well known pinball games and parts sellers Pinball Heaven and Pinballers Anonymous.

The venue for the show is the Holte Suite at Aston Villa football club in Birmingham. The 929 square metre fully air-conditioned facility has its own bar and should provide plenty of space for the expected 100+ pinball machines.

To encourage UK pinball hobbyists to bring games along there will be a collection service in the week before the show where games can be picked up from owners' homes and delivered to the show (and returned home afterwards).

Along with pinball games available for general play there is expected to be a number of jukeboxes, MAME video game cabinets and of course N-Gage handheld gaming devices along with other displays, exhibits and sellers.

But no pinball show would be complete without a competition and we here at Pinball News will be holding a daily Pinball News High Score Competition with some fantastic prizes courtesy of Nokia. The winner each day will take home a Nokia N-Gage gamers' phone complete with a copy of Mile High Pinball and a selection of other games.

Not only that, but there is a Best Hobbyist Game award for those offering their games to the show, and the winner of this will get their pick of any phone in the current Nokia catalogue.

All proceeds from the entry fee will go to Nokia's sponsored charity Mencap. Nokia UK's Director of Corporate Communications Mark Squires told Pinball News: "Many of our phones have featured pinball games in the past. Now with the launch of Mile High Pinball a full-featured pinball game for the Nokia N-Gage this is an ideal time to support the UK Pinball Show."

The show takes place at the Holte Suite of Aston Villa Football Club on the weekend of November 12th & 13th 2005. More details can be found as they are announced at the UK Pinball Show website www.ukpinballshow.co.uk and of course here at Pinball News.
