Brixie's at 9526 Ogden Avenue, about a third of a mile east of LaGrange Road in Brookfield, Illinois is my favorite place to play pins on location.

Brixie's always had a few of the latest Williams/Bally pins throughout the '90s. The last pin there - Stern's Monopoly - was pulled out in 2001. Luckily, thanks to pinball collector Rob Kokot, pinball machines are featured again at Brixie's.

Rob always has three pins available to play. He puts in some of the most high-end titles ever made. Some of the pins that have been rotated into Brixie's the past few years are: Guns 'N' Roses, Tron LE, Cactus Canyon, High Speed 2 - The Getaway, X-Men and Medieval Madness.

Looking at and playing his classic pins, it is easy to forget almost 20 years have gone by since they were made.

Besides the classic pins, Rob has brought in some of Stern's recent Limited Edition pins, which are extremely hard to find on location. The current line up is:

  • Metallica Master of Puppets Limited Edition, Stern
  • Star Trek - The Next Generation, Williams
  • Avengers Limited Edition, Stern

The best of the classic and new pins makes this an awesome destination to play pins.

Besides the pins, Brixie's also features a huge selection of micro-brew beers and very late hours, as you can see on their website.

UPDATE - February 2014

Brixie's how has a new selection of pinballs.

The Metallica - Master of Puppets remains, but the Star Trek: The Next Generation has itself been replace by the next generation of Star Trek game from Stern.

it's not all Stern games however, as The Avengers has moved out to make way for the classic Medieval Madness machine.

This one has a ColorDMD installed to bring the display a little more up-to-date.
