The UK Pinball Open also incorporates the finals of the UK Pinball League.
Each of the four regions has a number of pre-qualified players who do not have to qualify on Saturday and go straight into the final rounds of the UK Pinball Open on Sunday.
These are the top players in each region who have already proved their skills against their fellow players and have finished in the top postions of their league.
League pre-qualifiers do need to pay the £5 registration fee for combined entry into the UK Pinball League finals and the UK Pinball Open. As pre-qualifiers, they enjoy the same benefit as Saturday's qualifiers of immediately earning 1 WPPR point.
When league players join the qualifiers from Saturday, they will be split into one of two groups, A & B. The split is made as follows:
| Group A: |
|
|
South West
London & South East
North
Midlands
|
-
-
-
- |
4th & 5th places
4th & 5th places
3rd & 4th places
2nd & 3rd places |
| Group B: |
|
|
South West
London & South East
North
Midlands
|
-
-
-
- |
1st, 2nd & 3rd places
1st, 2nd & 3rd places
1st & 2nd places
1st place |
which means the groups consist of:
| Group A: |
|
|
Dan Prachar
Stan Simpson
Kevin Burrows
Phil Dixon
|
|
Andy Sims
Martyn Raison
Eddie Lehan
Aid Cooper |
plus the 10 bottom qualifiers from Saturday.
| Group B: |
|
|
Eddie Mole
Ian Thurston
Tom Hare
Andrew Stockdale
Nick Marshall
|
|
Greg Mott,
Martin Ayub
Roy Bussink
Garry Speight |
plus the 9 top qualifiers from Saturday.
So the top league pre-qualifiers go into group B as do the top placed qualifiers from Saturday.
Group A starts their first round of play at 11am on Sunday morning. Group B gets a small reward for qualifying at the top of their league with a longer lie-in, and don't start playing until 1pm.
During the UK Pinball Open, the display system will seperately rank the 17 league pre-qualifiers, to give the results table for the league.
When all the results for the UK Pinball Open are in (or earlier if no league pre-qualifiers make the final), the ranking table of league pre-qualifiers will become the final results for the UK Pinball League 2007, and prizes will be awarded for the top places.
