Stern Pinball today revealed the highly-anticipated black-and-white 70th Anniversary Edition of their popular Godzilla game.<\/p>\n\n\n

Priced at $9,699, this is a Premium-level release, sticking with the company’s promise not to produce subsequent Limited Edition models after the initial release. As a result, there is no restriction on the number of 70th Anniversary Edition machines Stern Pinball can produce.<\/p>\n\n\n

The cabinet and backbox artwork are monochromatic with just the 70th Anniversary logo sporting any colour. It gains a matching red backbox trim and red flipper buttons.<\/p>\n\n\n

Although not a Limited Edition, the cabinet and backbox artwork is a monochromatic version of the left-side and cabinet front art from the original Limited Edition. Unlike that initial release though, the left and right cabinet and backbox sides of the 70th Anniversary Edition are just mirror images of each other (with the exception of the 70th Anniversary logo, or course). They do feature a brushed metallic finish though. The translite image is a reworked version of the design used in the original Limited Edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The playfield is based on the Premium\/Limited Edition with a full monochromatic 70th Anniversary treatment to the artwork, decals and plastics, including the flipper bats which become white as opposed to the original yellow. The playfield inserts and billboard LEDs maintain their original colours though.<\/p>\n\n\n

CHICAGO, IL \u2013 July 9, 2024<\/strong> \u2013 Today, in honor of the 70th Anniversary of Godzilla<\/em>, renowned gaming and entertainment company, Stern Pinball, Inc., has announced some exciting updates for fans of the iconic King of the Monsters, including a new Godzilla <\/em>70th Anniversary Premium Edition pinball machine and content enhancements across all machines.

One of Stern\u2019s most popular, monster-packed pinball adventures, the Godzilla<\/em> Pinball Machine allows players to progress through the game as Godzilla<\/em>, fighting with their allies, Mothra, Rodan, and Anguirus, to battle the Xilien invasion and conquer Mechagodzilla to become King of the Monsters!
To celebrate this platinum anniversary, the team at Stern has created a special 70th Anniversary Premium Edition version of their Godzilla <\/em>pinball machine. A dynamic black and white edition, the pinball game features special foil greyscale decals on the cabinet, new greyscale color toys and special backglass artwork to commemorate the special anniversary. Godzilla <\/em>70th Anniversary Premium Editions will be available worldwide.

The update introduces the King of the Monsters via a Challenge Mode. The King of the Monsters Challenge can be accessed through the game mode menu, and features the same standard mode rules as the original Wizard Mode. Players can also compete for the top score in a new \u2018High Score To Date\u2019 table added exclusively for this challenge mode.

Coinciding with the 70th Anniversary Edition’s release, a new software update for all Godzilla models adds a new The King of the Monsters Challenge available through the game mode menu. The update isn’t, at the time of writing, available through Stern Pinball’s website, but no doubt will be soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
