to secure financing to continue its operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Melbourne-based company was run and entirely owned by Damian Hartin and began in 2018 with a game originally called <em>Ghosts<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"662\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Celts<\/a><\/em> went on to be the company\u2019s first commercial release but, despite positive reviews, only sold in modest numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a title which was a remake of the classic Bally game, <em>Fathom<\/em>.\u00a0 <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinballnews.com\/site\/2021\/04\/26\/fathom-revisited-announced\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"20920\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fathom Revisited<\/a><\/em> was launched in April 2021 with two versions offered, a Classic Edition and a Mermaid Limited Edition.\u00a0 Deposits were required initially, with the balance to paid closer to the time of manufacture.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a numbers and delivery dates were repeatedly missed with little communication about what was happening.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the company started, Damian was very active on social media, producing video updates on their development of <em>Celts <\/em>on a near daily basis.&nbsp; Gradually, the gaps between the updates turned from days to weeks, and then to months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The launch of the company\u2019s third title, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinballnews.com\/site\/2023\/07\/05\/centaur-revisited-announced\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"29126\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">remake of the Bally <em>Centaur<\/em> game<\/a>, took place mid-way through production of <em>Fathom Revisited<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinballnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/games\/centaur-revisited\/002-centaur-revisited.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"771\" height=\"1024\" slowed amid rumours of parts availability issues and lack of funding.&nbsp; Many cautioned that the <em>Centaur Revisited<\/em> pre-order funds might be needed to finance ongoing <em>Fathom Revisited<\/em> production, a suggestion which appeared to gain traction as full payment requests were sent out with no indication the buyers&#8217; games were about to be built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Monetary concerns increased in February this year when, after a prolonged silence, Damian contacted buyers of <em>Fathom Revisited<\/em> and <em>Centaur Revisited<\/em> games to advise them that the company needed to refinance and reorganise their processes.&nbsp; He warned that machine production, which had already slowed to a trickle, would need to be reduced further as the company restructured and ditched their just-in-time parts delivery method which was no longer fit for purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since then, no further communication has been received from Damian or Haggis Pinball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today the company closed their social media presences on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HaggisPinball\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HaggisPinball\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Facebook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/haggispinball\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/haggispinball\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Instagram<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@HaggisPinball\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@HaggisPinball\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">YouTube<\/a>, and removed their <a href=\"https:\/\/haggispinball.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/haggispinball.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website on WordPress<\/a>. Their <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/haggispinball\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/haggispinball\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X account<\/a> is still active at the time of writing, although it hasn\u2019t been updated since January 2022.&nbsp; Buyers of the company\u2019s pinball machines who purchased directly with Haggis are classed as unsecured creditors and are amongst the last to be paid back.&nbsp; In effect this means they will be very unlikely to receive any of their payments back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Buyers who paid either a deposit or the full purchase price through one of Haggis\u2019s distributors (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flipnoutpinball.com\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"www.flipnoutpinball.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Flip N Out Pinball<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/nitropinball.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/nitropinball.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nitro Pinball<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rs-pinball.at\/produkt-kategorie\/flipper\/haggis-pinball\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.rs-pinball.at\/produkt-kategorie\/flipper\/haggis-pinball\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RS-Pinball<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pinballheaven.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pinballheaven.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pinball Heaven<\/a>) should have some level of protection as their contract is with the distributor and not Haggis. It will then be up to the distributor to offer refunds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The landlord of Haggis Pinball\u2019s factory also confirmed operations there have ceased and that the premises will shortly be available to rent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The failure of Haggis Pinball demonstrates the difficulties building pinballs machines at scale, especially in a country where the cost and reliable supply of the necessary parts can be problematic.
