The popular UK Pinball Classic tournament returned on Sunday. Eight older machines were be set up in the tournament area and players competed to get the top score on any of them during the qualifying period.

Players could enter as many times as they wished on any or all the machines. Each game cost £1 per play.  The machines used were: Big Fair, Defender, Eight Ball Deluxe, Elektra, Fire Mountain, Firepower II, Haunted House and Pink Panther.

When qualifying ended at 3pm and the last games had finished, the top scoring players on each machine went into the semi-finals. 

Players could only qualify on one machine, so if the same player achieved the top score on more than one machine, they qualified on the one where they had the greatest lead over the second placed player (in percentage terms).  On the other machine(s), the second placed player qualified instead.

The semi-finals consisted of two four-player games where the top two from each game progressed to the final.  The machines used were drawn at random.

The four finalists then played a single four-player game to decide the top four places, while the four semi-final losers played for fifth-eighth place honours.  Once again, the machines used were drawn at random.

Congratulations to Brenn for winning the UK Pinball Classic 2010 and to all the finalists for producing an exciting and dramatic finale to the tournament.
